83:
Our community is more than a place. It is a bond shared by the people of Turlock and the surrounding region along with the students, faculty, and staff of California State University, Stanislaus. We at CSU Stanislaus are extremely proud to be part of this community and look forward to a productive and enduring partnership.

84:
Over the years, the University has presented many outstanding cultural and educational events featuring concerts, lectures, and theatrical productions. We have been successful in large part because of the support and participation of our wider community.

85:
In this spirit, CSU Stanislaus is planning to present Summer Arts at CSU Stanislaus again this year. The Summer Arts will start with a bang! on July 4th with a concert by Stanislaus POPs Band and Fantastic Fourth fireworks show. Approximately 14,000 people attend this July 4th event in and around the University Amphitheatre, making it one of the most popular and anticipated events of the season.

86:
The University’s Department of Theatre will also be presenting the second annual Shakespeare Festival, featuring the play As You Like It. In addition to this performance, there will be wonderful opportunities for families to gather on campus to see a children’s production of The Three Bully Goats Griff.

87:
If you or your business would like to help support these events, please visit the Sponsorship Opportunities page. The generosity of the business community and individuals alike will help make these events the best ever.

88:
We hope that you will join us this summer on our beautiful campus grounds in this beautiful city!

118:
One of Shakespeare’s earlier plays, As You Like It is a romantic comedy in the classical sense. But Shakespeare adds another level to the comedy, an undercurrent of frank discussion concerning nature, conservation and even the benefits of vegetarianism. The major characters have free reign to discuss their personal philosophies concerning love, aging, the natural world, even death. Not your normal romantic comedy fare.

119:
At its center are two of Shakespeare’s great characters. The melancholy Jacques, who delivers the famous “All the world’s a stage” speech, is pessimistic, dwelling on the negative. And, in contrast, Rosalind, one of Shakespeare’s best drawn romantic heroines, sees life’s difficulties and pain but maintains a positive attitude. She is playful, wise and kind, all qualities revered by the Christian Elizabethan audience. They loved the play. The discussions concerning the state of the natural world and the need to conserve our resources ring true today and the comedic repartee is fast and playful; and if that’s not enough, there’s music and dance.

128: Children will delight in this light-hearted, funny show, as they learn a value lesson about bullying. The two toll trolls who are bickering on a bridge have a "falling out" after Billy, the smallest of the three goats, decides to become a "bully goat." As if paying a toll to get across the bridge wasn't bad enough, now anyone who dares to trip-trap over the bridge gets knocked off by Billy. Willy, her peace-loving medium-size sister, tries to talk her out of it, but alas, she ends up over the edge herself. Fred, the biggest of the three goats, just wants to eat grass on the other side and even unwittingly helps Billy just so he can eat sooner. At first it seems funny, but the unfairness of Billy's bullying becomes more and more apparent as one innocent victim after another gets pushed off the bridge. Finally, pasture planner Dee Veloper, political candidate Polly Titian, prima ballerina Ismelda Slipper and mail person Carrie Post gang together with the other victims to teach Billy a lesson. With comical characters and non-stop action this production for children is sure to both entertain and teach an important lesson about bullying!
