RE: 2012 Scholarship Announcement
The Turlock Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee will be offering scholarships to eligible high school seniors who are planning to enroll as a full time student in agriculture at a California Community College or University offering a curriculum in agriculture. This scholarship program is designed to interest and encourage capable young people to enter the California agriculture industry.
This program is funded through contributions from members of the Turlock Chamber of Commerce and other businesses that support the agriculture industry. It is our belief that everyone benefits from this program. The students receive assistance towards attaining their chosen educational goal and the industry receives the new talent needed to remain competitive in today’s business world.
Enclosed is the application and flyers announcing the scholarship program. We hope that you will make this information available to all students who have expressed an interest in our industry. Please note that there is an application deadline of February 24, 2012. Complete Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
The students will be awarded at the Annual Turlock Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Luncheon, which will be held March 12, 2012, and must attend to receive their scholarship. In addition, please be advised that students must have a career goal in agriculture, be enrolled as an Agriculture major full-time and attending a college or university located in California.
It is our sincere feeling that you are the key to the success of qualified applicants of this program. Please send Mark Bender at mbender@csustan.edu pictures of your applicants and other chapter activities to include in the PowerPoint presentation at the luncheon.
Thank you for your support of the Turlock Chamber of Commerce Ag Scholarship Program.
