Remediation
Students entering CSU, Stanislaus with basic skill deficiencies in English and/or mathematics are allowed one calendar year to complete these deficiencies. If English and/ or mathematics deficiencies are not completed within one year of admission, the student will be administratively disqualified from the university and disenrolled from courses.
If a student is administratively disqualified, he/she must complete the deficiency in order to be reinstated.
Deficiency Completion Options:
- Retake the ELM to achieve a score of 50 or above to enroll in a G.E. Mathematics. To retest check dates at the Testing website.
- For additional ELM preparation, students can use the CSU Math Success Program—ALEKS which can be accessed via the web at http://www.csumathsuccess.org/exam_prep
- Community College Option: Complete English &/or Math course at a California Community College.
- Online Option: BYU offers Math 97 (Intermediate Algebra) for approximately $640.
The form for reinstatement after administrative disqualification can only be obtained from an academic advisor in ARC, MSR 180.
