Academic Disqualification & Reinstatement
A student will be disqualified from the University when as a:
- Freshman (fewer than 30 completed units) the student falls below a grade point average of 1.50 in all units attempted or in all units attempted at CSU Stanislaus.
- Sophomore (30 through 59 completed units) the student falls below a grade point average of 1.70 in all units attempted or in all units attempted at CSU Stanislaus.
- Junior (60 through 89 completed units) the student falls below a grade point average of 1.85 in all units attempted or in all units attempted at CSU Stanislaus.
- Senior (90 or more completed units) the student falls below a grade point average of 1.95 in all units attempted or in all units attempted at CSU Stanislaus.
Most students are disqualified due to their CSU Stanislaus GPA. A student will only be reinstated once that GPA has improved to the level needed based on class standing. A student seeking reinstatement must bring a Reinstatement Petition and any documentation necessary to prove an improved GPA to ARC for walk in advising. An ARC advisor must meet with the student and review the documentation before the petition can be submitted. This GPA calculator will help you recalculate your GPA.
A student who has not been enrolled at the University for one year or who has matriculated at another institution since last attending CSU Stanislaus must also apply for readmission to CSU Stanislaus in order to be reinstated.
